We warmly welcome children and young people to our services and to our various weekday events.
Karen Greene is our Children and Young Families' Worker. You can contact Karen here, or you can always pop into the church and meet Karen for a chat. She is around most mornings and she would be delighted to share a coffee with you!
Once a quarter from 10.30am to 11.15am.
Church? Yes indeed! If you are ready to revisit the timeless tradition of taking your family to church, then our FAMILY WORSHIP service is just for you. It’s new, it’s fresh and it’s short. We are still in an experimental stage, seeing what works and tweaking when necessary. For example, we've recently had "Breakfast Church" and on Mothering Sunday we introduced a morning café-style service for the first time, transforming the normal layout of the Sanctuary to create an informal gathering grouped around small tables. Whatever the format, the main thing is the worship. We sing contemporary classics, timeless favourites and songs the children can have fun with, we hear a message that is designed to inspire and encourage, and when it’s over we share tea or coffee together in the coffee lounge, where casual acquaintances are gradually becoming new friends.
First Friday of the month from 6pm to 7.30pm.
It’s Friday night. You have finished work and ready to kick-off the weekend. On the first Friday of every month we have the perfect thing for you and your family – BROADWAY. We gather at 6.15pm for supper in our coffee bar. At 6.45pm the children are off and running - crafts, stories, activities, Ultimate Frisbee and more. The adults have their coffee, dessert and 45 minutes to breathe, relax, chat, share, laugh and just be with other adults. At 7.30pm it’s time to go home (although most would rather not!).
There is no set charge for Broadway; donations are welcome.
10am - 12.30pm, one session during each school holiday.
If it's half-term and you are looking for something to do with the children, Messy Church always delivers. Imagine 10 tables of crafts with glitter, glue, paint - messy stuff indeed! In the first hour you and your children work together to make beautiful works of art - the kind worthy of the fridge door! Then it’s downstairs to the sanctuary where we sing, share, and learn some important life stuff in a very fun way. While this is happening, the fantastic mess upstairs disappears and a yummy lunch is ready and waiting for you and your family to enjoy.
There is no set charge for Messy Church though donations are welcome. Look for the date of the next Messy Church on the Events page.
Thursdays (term time only) from 3.30 - 4.30pm for school children up to Year 4 (and their parent or carer).
Thursdays (term time only) from 4pm onwards, for students in Year 5 to Year 9.
The coffee bar is open just for school kids. (Parents, grandparents, etc. - you can come too!) What’s on offer? Smoothies, Steamers and Cookies, and of course coffee and tea for the grown-ups. So do drop in. We are charging for these homemade goodies, but we promise you won’t find any better prices on the high street!
Wednesdays from 7pm to 9pm, at various times throughout the year (do check).
Leave the children with dad, or grandma… and treat yourself to 2 hours of ‘just for me’ time, something you probably need. We supply the craft experience; you know, the one you never get around to at home, as well as the coffee and the yummy brownies.
We offer these as a 6-week block of workshops with a charge of £15 to cover the cost of materials.
Thursdays in term time from 10am to 11.30am.
Bring your toddler to play with our toys and to meet other young children while you chat, have coffee and biscuits and enjoy watching your child at play. The cost is £2 per session.
Come along to enjoy a fun night "at the movies" with your children. And when it’s finished, please stay for pizza in the coffee lounge!
There is no set charge for Family Film Night though donations are welcome.
It happens on the second Saturday of the month (winter months only) at 5pm.
