Christine Fletcher’s Cornish Treasures

After many years in Cornwall, Chris and Nick Fletcher moved back to be near family in Dorset in the summer of 2015. They soon felt very much at home at Broadstone Methodist Church. Chris had been heavily involved in the Cornish Art world, both in St Tudy and latterly as chairman of Constantine Art Society and her work has been exhibited from Polperro to Mawnan Smith. Living in Broadstone, Chris joined the Poole & East Dorset Art Society (PEDAS) and also the Canford Heath Art Society, (CHAS).      See full story...

Blending colours

I was at a low ebb, the children were young, I felt I was a failure and not able to succeed at anything. It was at this point that I recalled how right from a child I had enjoyed dabbling with a paint brush, a pastime my granddaughter now also enjoys. My father was my greatest critic, always offering good advice and encouragement when it was needed. Then he died ~ and so did my courage and confidence in my ability to paint.      See full story...

Making God relevant for children

What would you do if you were asked to teach a class of middle school children for 1 hour each week for 6 -7 weeks on the subject of Christian faith? This is what I was asked to teach at Broadstone Middle School as part of their University of Broadstone Curriculum. Some of the things on offer are in areas of sport, gardening, table tennis, circus skills, comic book art, and music making…etc. Some exciting and fun things to choose from for sure!      See full story...
