Looking for something different? Try 'Messy Church'.
- Messy Church is for families who might want to meet Jesus, belong to their local church and bring up their children as Christians, but who want something different from a more formal traditional Sunday morning church service.
- Messy Church is a time of creativity, worship and eating together. It normally takes place on a Sunday afternoon from 4.30pm and lasts for a couple of hours. NB During school holidays we are holding two holiday Messy Churches on a Thursday morning - see diary below.
- We usually have around 15 children and 30 adults, including helpers but have room for more!
- We meet in the BMC coffee lounge for a drink and a chat while the youngsters spend a bit of time colouring, doing a quiz or similar based on the theme for the day.
- We then move upstairs to our main hall where there are all sorts of activities for the children and adults to enjoy. There are usually some crafts to do, puzzles to solve, some food to make, and lots more besides, all tied in to our theme. We spend around an hour relaxing and doing all the activities before playing a game and having a short bible story, sharing and simple worship.
- Afterwards we all have some tea together before going home. Tea is usually something like jacket potato or fish fingers and salad, and pudding will usually be whatever the children have created during the afternoon!
It really is great fun for all and we would love it if you came along to join in [our Messy Church dates are given below].
